This prestigious award was presented to Sho Dozono by the Consul-General of Japan, The Honorable Akio Egawa, in a ceremony held at the Consul-General’s residence. Dozono was honored for his excellence in professional and civic leadership, as well as his personal example in helping to forge close ties between the Japanese-American and Japanese communities, sharing common objectives that further strengthen Japan-US relations.

In 2008, Dozonoo served as chair of the 100th Anniversary Committee of the Japan-America Society of Oregon and in this capacity organized substantial events to commemorate the anniversary and bolster friendship between Japan and the United States, focusing on Oregon.
