2002 Excellence Award in Community Service




Presented to Sho Dozono on May 7, 2002, at the Chamber’s 14th Annual CelebrASIAN Conference at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in midtown Manhattan for "his hard work, perseverance and contributions to the American way of life."

Mr. Dozono was one of eight individuals to receive the Excellence Award in Community Service, the organization’s highest honor. Mr. Dozono joined another Northwesterner, Olympic Short Track Gold Medalist Apolo Anton Ohno of Seattle, in receiving the award.  The other honorees included:  Viet Dihn, who serves as an assistant attorney general in Washington, D.C.; Lisa Ling, a star of The View on ABC Television; Edmund Moy, a special assistant to President Bush; Ambassador Sichan Siv, who represents the US at the United Nations Economic and Social Council; Dr. David Wong, who led the team that created the anti-depressant Prozac; and Thomas Chen who created a small company that now does $37 million in sales.
